We are the single pass digital printing experts in Italy.

Ecogenio was born from the experience of Gto Srl, leader for over forty years, in the production of printing machines and systems for pad printing, screen printing and hot stamping. The first digital series was born in 2010 to print on leather and footwear with ecosolvent inks. The next step took place in 2015, with a machine able to print on plastic and glass by using UV inks. Today, the introduction of ecological water-based inks has given life to the latest generation models, ideal for obtaining high-quality customizations on multiple surfaces.

A glimpse into the future

The new version of Ecogenio was created with the goal of making eco-friendly prints.

By using water-based inks, the HYDRO series enables high-definition, multi-color personalization on all absorbent surfaces such as: paper, cardboard, TNT, and wood.

GTO started as a local family business. Our machines are produced by us in the province of Reggio Emilia.

Founding years: the ’80s

1980 – Rito Robert Scolaro founds “Tipografia Pegaso” which deals with printing catalogs and letterheads.
1984 – Valter Scolaro founds “Serigrafia Pegaso 2” which offers screen printing services to Pegaso lithography customers
1986 – Rito Robert Scolaro opens a company to sell small pad printing machines, directed to a clientele in the promotional and advertisement field.

Gto and pad printing: the 1990s

1990 – Together with an Argentine partnership, a new branch was founded to manufacture and distribute pad printing machines in North, Center and South America.
1999 – Foundation of GTO srl, a manufacturer of pad printing, screen printing and hot foil machines, serving the Italian and European markets.
1999 – Pegaso specializes in the sole supply of consumables.

Ecogenio is launched. Patents and technological progress: the 2000s.

2001 – Launch of the new “Rototak” series: first pad printing machine with interpolated axes designed to print on heels and wedges in the footwear sector.
2008 – Foundation of GTO America in Florida which handles the distribution and installation of printing machines in North, Central and South America.
2010 – Creation of the Ecogenio brand that deals with the construction and sale of single and multi-pass machines.
2010 – Debut of the first digital single pass machine in the leather, cosmetics, wood and plastic industries at Simac Tanning tech-Lineapelle exhibition in Bologna, Italy.

The latest innovations and eco-friendly inks

2015 – Launch of Single Pass Ink UV machine, for the plastic/glass/footwear sector at Cosmoprof Worldwide in Bologna, Italy.
2019 – Foundation of Roboprint, a company that owns special patents for robotic and automated pad printing machines.
2019 – Patent of the Tampolamina and Tampotransfer printing machines.
2020 – Foundation of the GTO Academy
2020 – Ecogenio evolves once again, bringing new innovations to the digital printing industry with the introduction of environmentally friendly, high-performance water-based inks. The Hydro 300 Series is introduced, featuring the 2 flagship models.
